2017 Comedy Lunch to benefit Inala

The Comedy lunch, held on 23rd June at the Westin Hotel was a great success, raising over $200,000. This is the 24th year Inala Board Member, Ian Hyman OAM has organised this event and for the past seven years Inala has been fortunate to be the beneficiary of funds raised. The 400-strong audience were entertained by comedian Paul Martell and gave generously during the auctions.

Many generous sponsors were involved in making the event such a success, in particular we would like to thank event sponsors Resicom and Oak Captial, recruitment specialists Citrus Group, Bare Captial, Macquarie Bank and Keypoint Law, Factor One and Hall Chadwick. As well as Hymans Valuerers and Auctioneers, Langmeil Barossa Wines and O’Leary Walker winemakers. The event travel partner One Ocean Expeditions donated an amazing expedition to Antarctica which alone raised $28,000, we are extremely grateful for their support and generosity.

We are grateful for the ongoing and loyal support of Inala Patron, Blanche d’Alpuget and her husband the Hon Bob Hawke, AC and were honoured they were guests at the lunch.

John Bay, an Inala parent, produced a very entertaining video showcasing the talents and achievements of many members of the Inala community.

Funds raised from the Comedy Lunch will go towards the purchase of new wheelchair accessible busses. Readily available and reliable transport is key to ensuring all individuals are provided flexible opportunities for participation – new wheelchair accessible buses will help Inala ensure these opportunities are available.
