2019 Christmas Appeal
Inala is all about community and Christmas is a time for us all to come together as a community, enjoy the company of family and friends and reflect on the past year.
This year we have had the pleasure of seeing our community grow as we welcomed five new residents into their home at Inala. We have loved watching these newest members of our community develop greater independence, learn new skills and grow in confidence as they make new friends in a home they call their own.
Nicole was one of these new residents. In January this year, she jumped at the opportunity to live at Pohl Cottage. Moving out of home is a big step for anyone and for Nicole this was no different. She was familiar with Inala, having attended Miroma for several years, but this was the first time she had lived away from her family.
It was uplifting to see how quickly Nicole settled into a more independent life. She has taken up several new activities, has made many new friends both through her housemates and other participants at Dulkara and her self-assurance has grown – she even had the confidence to perform a solo rendition of Fernando at this year’s Spring Festival!

This Christmas, we are striving to provide more opportunities for people like Nicole to live in their own home at Inala and develop a more independent life.
We are extremely grateful to everyone who has contributed towards our goal of raising $4.5m to build two new homes in the community and are very pleased to report that due to your generous support we are half way there!
Every day we are fortunate to see the difference your generous support makes in the lives of individuals living with disability, ultimately allowing each person to live more fulfilling lives.
