Governor of New South Wales visits Inala in Cherrybrook

Nov 12, 2018

Inala is immensely grateful to Julian Leeser, Federal Member for Berowra, for his tireless advocacy on behalf of Inala.

Inala is grateful for the generous support His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, and Mrs Linda Hurley have shown toward our organisation and our community of individuals living with disability and their families recently.

On Tuesday 6 November the Governor and Mrs Hurley visited Coolamon, one of our Accommodation Supports in the local Cherrybrook area, as well as Dulkara, Centre for Life Skills and the Arts, also in Cherrybrook. Their warmth and genuine interest was evident as they toured the home and state-of-the art community hub before enjoying morning tea in Dulkara’s Rumples Cafe, which was prepared by the Bread Making Group.

The Governor and Mrs Hurley were also in attendance at Inala’s 60th Anniversary Gala Dinner at Le Montage in Lilyfield on Thursday 1 November. The Governor congratulated Inala and the founding families for 60 years of supporting individuals living with disability.

‘Australia needs more organisations like Inala that enable people living with disability to move in to the community and do the things we take for granted – things like going for a coffee with a friend – and experience a rich and meaningful life.’

Inala is grateful to the Governor and Mrs Hurley for their interest in the support we provide to individuals living with disability.
