Inala would like to sincerely thank His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, for joining us on the day to celebrate Inala’s 60th Anniversary. Special thanks also to the NSW Golf Club for their generosity in hosting the day.
We are thrilled to announce that the event was a huge success, raising $55,000. These funds will contribute to Inala’s goal of raising $4.5m to build two purpose designed homes to provide much needed accommodation for individuals with disability.
A field of 80 players took on the challenging coastal course and enjoyed the beautiful views including some spectacular whale watching!
After retiring to the Clubhouse, Inala Chairman, Bill Best, welcomed and thanked the guests. Angus Holden, whose sister Sophie has been a resident at Inala for 40 years, gave an insight into the opportunities Inala has provided Sophie and his family over many years.
“Inala’s great strength is its ability to give all residents, irrespective of their needs, a chance to express themselves, find activities they enjoy, make real friendships, and lead relatively independent lives.
Just as much as Inala is a life changer for people with special needs, it is equally so for their parents. The daily grind of caring for your own child can be overwhelming. Inala gives parents time to breathe again and recalibrate their relationship with their child. They become much better parents, once they’re released from the daily grind of feeding, caring and worrying.”
