Our Watson’s Bay centre which is held in the historic “The Gunyah” building focuses on individual support and skills development for young people. Individuals develop independent living skills, building self confidence and are encouraged to participate in the local community. Our Watson's Bay centre is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

There is a continually developing range of opportunities including:

Creative Arts and high quality Crafts including photography, pottery, candle making, marbling, card making, craftwork and jewellery making.

Specialised Therapies 

Music programs, Movement and Drama.

Health and Wellbeing

Yoga and gentle exercise, Dance and Movement.

Life Skills Development

Shopping, Cooking, Literacy, Domestic chores, Money skills, Travel Training and Social skills programs.

Community involvement and volunteer programs

Library volunteering, Dear Neighbour Program and Restaurant volunteering.

Education and Pre-vocational and work skills training

Computers, Literacy and Numeracy, Travel Training, Work experience, Work skills training and development.

Community Participation

A huge range of personally chosen community-based recreational and leisure activities , including going to the beach, sailing, visiting art galleries, national parks and museums.

 

Miroma’s annual art exhibition and quarterly festivals are examples of some of the interesting and exciting events held throughout the year.

Miroma supports individuals to continually develop creative and artistic skills, vocational and life skills and therapeutic support based on individual choice and interests.

These programs support individuals in gaining social skills, independence and confidence as we believe these are the basis for successful lives.
