Making a difference
Reverse Garbage in Marrickville reuses and repurposes materials that would otherwise end up in landfill.
One of Miroma’s strong supporters and valued partnerships, our collaboration has seen participants make pom poms from recycled banners and swing tags from leftover card that are used for professional-looking pricing and displays at Reverse Garbage. We also shred their office paper waste for use in our community gardens.
Part of the work skills program at Bellevue Hill, programs such as this provide meaningful activities for our participants, who enjoy being involved in our local community.
Participants also gain valuable skills in teamwork, communication, routines and time management, as well as work culture and health and safety. They also learn to take initiative and work independently.
It’s a win for Inala – and the planet!
