The Strength of Our Community
On Monday, December 16, we were thrilled to have Julian Leeser MP visit Inala to hand deliver a cheque for $15,000 as part of the Stronger Communities Programme, and to enjoy Inala’s annual Christmas Party. Russell, Peter and Joy were very excited to accept the cheque on behalf of Inala, alongside Martin and Rebecca. This grant will go toward renovating and re-purposing an older building to create a new Mature Age Day Service.
For over 60 years, Inala has been committed to providing the highest quality support to individuals living with disability. An important part of this commitment is to be flexible and support individuals as their needs change. As many of us know, our needs are ever-changing as we go through life, and in particular as we grow older. With this in mind, Inala is planning to renovate and repurpose an older building to provide a new day service to better support some of our maturing clients.
Many of the individuals we support have been part of the Inala community for many years and some are reaching a stage in their life where they are seeking a slower pace, greater flexibility and a quieter environment. To respond to this need Inala is creating an alternative support option, with activities and an environment which are tailored to meet these changing needs.
