Our Patron
We are thrilled and honoured to welcome our new Patron, Richard Wilkins AM, to Inala

We are thrilled and honoured to welcome our new Patron, Richard Wilkins AM, to Inala. Richard is well-loved, admired and enormously respected for his long and distinguished media career, and is also renowned for being the proud father of five children, and for his commitment to philanthropic work.
In 2014 Richard was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his “significant services to the community through a range of charities, and the entertainment industry”.
Richard was inspired to take up the role of Patron for Inala by his son, Adam, who was born with Down Syndrome. Richard has experienced firsthand how it takes a community to raise a child with a disability, and welcomes the opportunity to support the Inala community.
Richard is Channel Nine’s Entertainment Editor and hosts weekend shows on SmoothFM nationally. He has been at the forefront of Australian entertainment for more than 30 years.
During his long and distinguished career, Richard has hosted a number of top-rating TV shows including MTV Australia, Entertainment Tonight, and hosted New Year’s Eve Festivities on Sydney Harbour for a decade. He hosted the Nine Network’s coverage of The Academy Awards for 20 years, as well as The Golden Globe Awards and the ARIA Awards, and was MC of the G’Day LA Gala for over a decade.
Richard has interviewed most of the world’s most-celebrated entertainment identities, and more recently had a significant role at the state memorials of Olivia Newton-John and Barry Humphries. Richard is also the author of the best-selling book Black Ties, Red Carpets, Green Rooms.
Richard supports a number of charities, and we are honoured he has chosen Inala to be one of the charities he supports.
