Mario has a long history with Inala having first come to work as a contractor in 1984. Following a more than 20 year relationship with the organisation CEO John Wilshire offered him the role of Maintenance Manager which he began in 2007. With an extensive career which spans factory fit outs, renovations, office extensions, painting and complete factory relocations, he was pleased to be able to see many of Inala’s major projects come to life, including Dulkara and new homes at Radley Place. Mario has always had a special connection with Inala and loves being part of the team.
Leading our Health Care Team, Margaret is dedicated to helping individuals to achieve equal opportunity to medical, social, emotional and technological opportunities to live a healthy and fulfilling life. Following a career in nursing Margaret started at Inala in 2012 supporting residents overnight before moving to the health care team. Having a dedicated Health Care Team is a point of difference for Inala and ensures individuals with a disability get the help they need to navigate mainstream health systems.
Kathryn has over 25 years’ experience working in the disability sector, with half of that time spent in management roles. She has worked in a variety of support services, primarily with adults, in therapy services, employment, accommodation, day services and retirement programs, giving her a well-rounded, holistic knowledge of participant support needs. Kathryn has extensive experience working with participants with all levels of support needs including physical, intellectual and mental health support, and is an active member of three inter-agency committees.
Rosemary is passionate about improving the quality of life for each individual living with a disability. Before joining Inala in 2005 as the Accommodation Services Assistant Manager, Rosemary worked in day services and was also volunteer with the Riding for the Disabled Association for ten years. Rosemary holds a Bachelor of Education (majoring in disability) and Master of Education (majoring in human relations and community education). Rosemary is committed to continuing the wonderful service Inala provides as well as embracing change that has a positive impact on all participants, their supporting staff and families.
Alison joined Inala in November 2022 and comes with extensive experience in marketing and engagement strategy, communications and operations, developed over 22 years in various roles at Boston Consulting Group and other professional services organisations. She is responsible for managing and growing Inala’s marketing, communication, fundraising and engagement activities.
Joanna has both a legal and human resources background, with a Master of Law and Diploma of Human Resources. Joanna is currently completing a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice. She is a mental health first aider and has a passion for leading, inspiring and developing others.
Natalie joined Inala in September 2022 and comes with extensive experience in strategic and operational leadership and management in the areas of Disability, Long Day Care/Preschool, Aged Care and Training. She holds a Bachelor of Teaching and Bachelor of Education, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Leadership.
Daniel Bowyer joined Inala in August 2023 as Chief Financial Officer. Having worked across all finance functions for many multi-national companies, he brings over 25 years of experience to lead the finance team. He is an innovative leader who can ensure his team work collaboratively to meet an organisation’s goals. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Business with a major in Finance and was drawn to Inala because of his desire to make a difference in the lives of individuals with disability.
Alexandra joined Inala as the Chief Executive Officer in July 2022. Alexandra brings a wealth of experience in strategic and operational leadership and management, gained in her roles in the Aged Care, Retirement Living, Child Care, Education and Training, Disability, Design and Construction and Health Care Industries over the past 30 years.
Alexandra began her career as a Registered Nurse, and with her dedication to furthering her education she completed a Masters of Nursing then a Masters of Business Administration.
Alexandra is a motivated and experienced leader who has a passion for serving the community while working with a mission-focused, ‘for purpose’ organisation.
Vicki began her career as a registered nurse, midwife, nurse educator and hospital administrator. Moving into the broader health and human services sector, Vicki has held senior executive roles across hospital and ambulance services, disability, mental health, primary health care services and veterans affairs. Vicki was awarded a Commonwealth Public Service Medal for her work leading the national early childhood education and care quality reforms. Vicki brings to Inala valuable experience from her role as Deputy CEO and Acting CEO of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). Vicki joined the NDIA in 2015, when it was in its infancy, driven by her desire to contribute to this major reform and help improve the lives of people living with a disability, and their families. Vicki has joined the Strategy Committee and we welcome her knowledge, expertise and experience to the Inala Board.
Sally joined the Inala board in 2023 and hopes to bring a unique perspective as an individual living with disability. Sally suffered a brain haemorrhage 20 years ago which has left her with difficulties with her speech, balance and writing. She was introduced to Inala through friends having attended many fundraising golf days and trivia nights. Sally currently volunteers at Dulkara and Miroma to get a better understanding of the work and the participants at Inala. With a background in marketing having previously held roles at The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club and organised large corporate events, Sally looks forward to continuing her contribution through the Inala Board.
Lori joined the board in November 2022, bringing her almost 40 years of legal and human resources and board experience. She is a non-executive director on the Board of the Association of Corporate Counsel Australia, where she has been a member of the Finance and Risk Committee since 2020. She was recognised for her many contributions to the 40,000 member Association of Corporate Counsel as its Global Member of the Year in 2021. Lori has a Bachelor of Arts (Biology) from the University of California, San Diego and a Juris Doctorate from the University of California, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. A qualified lawyer in both California and New South Wales, she is the Senior Director of Global Employment Law (JAPAC) at the Fortune 200 company Salesforce and volunteers on the employment law panel of Redfern Legal Services. Lori has a deep commitment to inclusion, diversity, equality and accessibility.
Scott joined the Inala Board in January 2023. As a senior Corporate and International Tax partner he has over 30 year’s experience in the tax profession. He has been a Partner in Corporate & International Tax at Deloitte Touche Tomatsu since September 2010, working with and advising a range of both Australian based and multinational corporations in relation to corporate tax matters.
Caroline joined the Board in 2019 bringing deep experience in Marketing, PR and Communication from a variety of industries. She has extensive experience in marketing and fundraising for not-for profit causes and specialises in PR and Marketing Communication strategy. Caroline is a member of the People, Anthroposophy, Families and Staff Committee and has a BA Communication from Charles Sturt University. She is very enthusiastic about the availability and quality of long term care for individuals living with disability.
Judith joined the board in 1998, is an Anthroposophical representative and a member of the People, Anthroposophy, Families and Staff Committee. Judith’s background is in Corporate Governance, Risk Management and Accounting, having worked for Consolidated Press Holdings Ltd, Seven Network Ltd, Promina Ltd and Babcock and Brown Ltd as Group Company Secretary and Head of Risk Management. Judith has also established the governance functions for a number of IPO’s. Judith has a strong familiarity and background in Steiner-based approaches.
Jeremy joined the Inala Board in 2022 and is a member of the Finance and Asset Management Committee. He is a Chartered Accountant and his early career was working with leading chartered accounting firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers, both in Sydney and London. For the last 20 years, he has been working in Executive Search and Recruitment mainly through his own firm, PeopleOne.
Jeremy has a twin brother James, who has been attending Inala since 1975.
Bill joined the Inala board in 1997 and was Chairman from 2012 until 2022. Bills has over 30 years’ experience in investment banking and stockbroking and was formerly an Executive Director of Macquarie Bank for 13 years, working primarily in the Equity Capital Markets. He is currently chairman of Liverpool Partners and a consultant to OnMarketBookbuilds. He is also a director of the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Chair of the Australian Chamber Orchestra Instrument Fund. Bill holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from The University of Melbourne and a Master of Commerce in Finance from The University of New South Wales.
Bill’s daughter attended Inala school, and has participated in Day & Community programs and accommodation support since 1993.
Ian joined the Inala Board in 2017 and is a member of the Finance and Asset Management Committee. He is a Chartered Accountant and his early career was with a professional accounting firm. More recently he has long experience with a major bank, dealing with companies with different degrees of financial distress or which have collapsed.
Ian’s son has participated in Day & Community programs with Inala since 2007 and accommodation supports since 2016.
Sam joined the Board in 2021 and has had a long association with Inala. With over 35 years sales and general management experience in the office equipment and printing industries, Sam brings a wealth of experience and insight to the Board. In particular, he brings his knowledge of the workings of parliament and the Federal government. He has a Bachelor of Arts, Hons from the University of Sydney.
Sam’s sister has been a participant at Inala since the early 1970s, first attending Miroma before becoming a resident at Inala.
